Oil Works - Steel Construction - Naval Repair - Mechanics - Electric Motors Repair

Workshop GNCAC Port

The site is situated along the Avenue principale du Port which leads to the entrance of the quays.

It extends over a ground of 8 000 m2 including a central reservation of 5 000 m2 for the storage and the imporant prefabrications, a R+1 building of 200 m2 which contains the Technical Management, the offices of the people in charge of section, the Studies Department SIAC, and a shed of 3 000 m2, in two halls, equipped with "ponts roulants, desservant" the tools-machine of the boilermaking workshop ("plieuse, rouleuse"…) and the prefabrication zones, with steel constructions and piping.

Laterally of this main shed, we find zones of stores, the workhop of electric bobinage, as well as a joiner's worshop, the premises of the "Groupe électrogène" of 300 kVA which can feed all the installations, and a premises of production of compressed air by means of an electric compressor of an important capacity.

These installations being also of use as base to all the outside building sites realized by the company, an important part is reserved for the tidying up of machines ("grues, camions, postes à souder, compresseurs, groupes électrogènes", …) and specific materials ("paniers de transport, racks, containers bureaux-magasins-ateliers",…).

Finally, on the outside of the shed, side dock of the Port, we find the hold "de halage" (capacity 700 T) for the "mise à sec" of ships. This hold constitutes a very important working zone.

At the beginning of 2006, these installations grew rich of a shed 35 m x 10 m reserved for the Electric Motors ATEX activity (intented for be used in "explosible" atmosphere), of an useful height of 7 metres with a "pont roulant" of 8 T.
